July 4th and Fireworks

This is a reminder that the City of Kyle has a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY on fireworks popped off/launched within the city limits. Based on city ordinance, it is against the law to discharge or use fireworks in Kyle. (This does not apply to the city's fireworks show, which is properly permitted and uses a professional pyrotechnics firm to launch the display.) We have included a copy of the City's fireworks ordinance in our Knowledge Base section and can be found here.

Kyle Police Department will continue its enforcement of the ordinance against fireworks. Please call the non-emergency number, 512-268-3232, to report any activity related to the illegal discharge or use of fireworks inside city limits. If it's a true emergency, never hesitate to call 911.

The City of Kyle has started posting signs at the entrances of subdivisions to inform everyone about the ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY. Claiming you did not know about the ordinance is not an excuse. Here is a picture of the sign at the entrances to our subdivision at Windy Hill Road and Dacy Lane.

Please have a safe and happy Independence Day holiday.

Info from Community Impact Newspaper, June 2018

The Community Impact Newspaper June 2018 edition had an article in their Business Feature section about a Pet Boarding, Day Care and Grooming business that started in August 2017 called Pups and Mutts Boarding, Day Care and Grooming. They are located at 598 Rebel Drive in Kyle and their phone number is 512-268-9177. I have added a link to their website in this article as well as in the Helpful Info section.

If you have pets and are in need of their services, you may want to check them out and see if they are a fit for you and your fur babies. Again, this is in the June 2018 edition of the Community Impact Newspaper in case you want to read the article.

There was also an advertisement for Republic Veterinary Hospital that is now open. their info is also in the Helpful Info section along with their phone number.

Note: Pups and Mutts, Republic Veterinary Hospital, nor any other entity did not pay for or request this posting. As these businesses are part of the City of Kyle community, we felt it's important to bring attention to these local businesses that may be able to help you with specific needs.

Fences, Pets and Hot Weather

As a reminder, the weather is heating up and for those that have pets that spend time outside, whether temporary or long term, please keep in mind that pets spending time outside will need shade and water to stay cool and hydrated. Just like us, it's easy for pets to overheat without proper shade and water.

You may also take some time to walk your fence lines and check your gates on a regular basis throughout the year. It's easy for wildlife, like rabbits, to dig under fences or for high winds and rains to cause damage to your fencing or gates that leave gaps or holes for your pets to escape. When open spots are discovered by your pets, they often will explore and may not easily find their way back home without help.

There have been a lot of posts on Nextdoor the last few months with animals escaping yards or otherwise wandering off or just plain missing. Please take a few minutes and check your yards, fencing and gates to make sure that your fur babies don't have an opportunity to escape. And if they spend time outside, even 20 minutes for an exercise and potty break, make sure they have water and shade available.

As a reminder, if you own a pet within the Kyle city limits that is four months old or older, you must register your pets with the city. Go to the City of Kyle's website for more information.

Learn to Crochet

Maria Klein is offering to teach those interested in learning to Crochet down at the City of Kyle library. She will be there at the library when the crochet/knitting group meets, if you are interested. I saw this on a thread on Nextdoor and thought it would be good to share here.

Please take a few minutes and look at the other groups that exist and meet weekly or monthly. You can look at the schedule on the City of Kyle website for more information.

February 2018 Board of Directors Meeting

We had our Board of Directors meeting this evening at the Kyle Library. Board members reviewed the financial statements and discussed options for handling the downed trees we have in the creek to prevent flooding issues. New board members were also trained on duties and responsibilities.

The meeting minutes will be uploaded to the Meeting Minutes page under Documents for your review.

Special Announcement: Landscaping Policy

The ongoing drought makes it very difficult for homeowners to maintain a green and attractive lawn. The Board of Directors wants to encourage all residents of Indian Paint Brush HOA to do their part in conserving water. We would like to encourage all homeowners to explore xeriscaping options. Xeriscaping can take many styles and shapes. Some xeriscaping projects can also incorporate small sections of grass. This picture shows a recent project completed by the homeowners at 183 Dandelion Loop. Please remember that any xeriscaping project must first be approved by the Architectural Control Committee. The ACC form can be found on this website on the Documents page.
